Obituary of Worth E. Nestlerode
Vestal: Surrounded by his family, Worth E. Nestlerode, 89, of Vestal, NY peacefully passed into the arms of his loving Savior on Friday, November 14, 2014. He was born in Fostoria, Ohio on February 4, 1925. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles & Lillian Nestlerode; his brother, Charles; and sisters, Alice and June. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley A. Nestlerode; his sons, Brian (Pat) Nestlerode and Dale (Nancy) Nestlerode; and daughter, Cheryl Nestlerode; along with four grandchildren, Carrie (Dan) Titlow, Michael, Amy and Nicholas Nestlerode. He is also survived by his nephew, William (Cindy) Perkins and niece Sharon (John) Hollar. He served in the Army as an instrument surveyor during World War II. Worth retired from IBM in 1983 after 27 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He devoted 18 years to volunteering at the Willow Point Nursing Home. Worth was a loving and generous husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home and Wilson Hospital, 4th floor North Tower, who gave special care to Worth during his final days. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Vestal on Tuesday, November 18 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main Street, Vestal, on Monday, November 17 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 300 North Jenson Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
