Obituary of Robert V Tingley
Robert V. Tingley of Endicott Robert V. Tingley, 89, of Endicott, passed away peacefully at his home, Friday morning, April 3, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Edith Tingley; his wife, Mary (Ziemba); brother, Tenny; sisters, Chucky Waterman and Kate Kimble. He is survived by a daughter, Pat Babcock, Endicott; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Sally Tingley, Endicott; grandchildren, Donna DePersis, Michael (Goonie) and Becky, Christopher and Amanda Babcock, TN, Gina and Mike Marsh and Douglas Tingley; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Mahoney; several nieces and nephews. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He was a retired employee of IBM Endicott and the IBM Country Club with over 45 years of service and a member of its Quarter Century Club; a member of the West Corners Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of American Legion Post #1700, West Endicott. He was one of the original founders of the West Corners Little League. He was meticulous about his lawn and garden. A well known and loved icon will be missed sitting on his porch on Day Hollow Road. The family would like to especially thank Lourdes Hospice for their care of Robert. Funeral and Interment Services will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850.
