Obituary of Brian Saamer
Brian John Saamer, 55, passed away unexpectedly on November 29th. He is awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Born in Oneida, NY August 11, 1959, he was a beloved son of Henry and Jane Saamer. He graduated Onondaga Community College in 1979 and was an employee of Midway Industrial Supply, Utica, NY for 25 years.
Brian's life was exemplified in the Holy Scripture.
I Corinthians 9:22b says "I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some." Brian had the beautiful, godly ability to speak with anyone at any time about anything. He let them know that they mattered.
II Corinthians 3:20 says "Ye are our epistle written in our heart, know and read of all men." He was a living epistle. Helping others and ministering the Word of God were the things that most blessed him.
Brian loved growing food, cooking, and sharing the results of both with others. This past year, he grew 70 gladioli, his favorite flower as they were a sweet remembrance of his most precious mother and a reminder of God's magnificence.
Recently, Brian became involved with the American Heart Association. This past May, he started a community team, "Team Super Blake, Too" for the local Heart Walk in Binghamton. This was to honor and support his great-nephew Blake McCracken, who was born with 4 holes in his heart. "Team Super Blake and Brian, Too" will continue this year to honor Brian as well.
Brian was a family man to the core. Beloved by his nieces and nephews, they affectionately called him UB. Volumes could be written about the heart, life, and love of Brian John.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; his two children, Elijah and Emily. His dearest siblings Penny Gardner and her husband, Charlie; Henry Val Saamer and his wife, Nancy; Colleen Price and her husband, Bob; Nancy Luna and her husband, Jose. The beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and our adopted sister Jean Shields.
In lieu of flowers, Brian's family would ask you to consider a donation to:
