Obituary of Nina Mae Cook
Johnson City: Nina Mae Cook, 95 of Johnson City, NY passed away peacefully at Riverview Manor in Owego on January 21st 2015. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Gerald C. Cook; her parents, Bernard and Harriet Schilling; and a sister, Jane (Chuck) Liddy. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (David) Johnson and Dawn (Nancy) Cook; three grandchildren, Tina, Amanda and David; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; a special niece, Sandra Demarest; nephew, Dennis Cook; and her favorite dog, Angel. Nina served two years at the Washington, D.C. Temple, as an Ordinance Worker. She was a fantastic cook, a Girl Scout leader for many years, an expert swimmer/diver, and in her free time, she loved to crochet and do artwork. She absolutely loved to go out to the cottage and loved her animals. Mom was referred to as the "General" for always keeping us in line. Special thanks to the staff at Riverview Manor for their special care. Services for Nina will be held on Friday January 23rd at 1:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 305 Murray Hill Road, Vestal, NY 13850. Calling hours will from 11-1 before the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society, 5 Jackson Ave., Binghamton, NY.
