Obituary of Herbert Skogfeldt

Herbert G. Skogfeldt of Endwell Herbert G. Skogfeldt passed away Saturday, April 4, with his family at home by his side. He had a long 7 year struggle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Rada, Sweden, and came to this country in 1948. He was 80 years old. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Skogfeldt, and they were married for 55 years. Also surviving are four children, Richard Skogfeldt, Endwell, NY, Linda Edson, Lenoir City, TN, Lori and husband, Erwin Griffith, Endwell, NY, and Rolf Skogfeldt; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and wife, Denise Skogfeldt, Trista Skogfeldt, Crystal and Jeff Singleton, Corey and wife, Megan Edson, Kristina Skogfeldt, and Seraiah and Kierston Griffith; four great-grandchildren, Devin and Keevan Skogfeldt, Payton Singleton and Tristen Edson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and he worked for 37 years at I.B.M. He was a graduate of Tri State University, Angola, IN, where he earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a charter member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Endwell, sang in the choir and taught Adult Sunday School. He loved golf and was an avid fisherman. Our family would like to thank Hospice at Lourdes Hospital for their wonderful help during the many months he was bedridden. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful group of dedicated people here in our area. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. A Memorial Service will be held May 2nd at Our Saviour Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. Arrangements are by the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott.
