Obituary of Theresa Mae Knight

Theresa Mae "Tres" Knight (nee DeHaan) of Endicott, NY, beloved stepmother, aunt, grandmother and friend, died on Monday, April 27, 2015 at UHS Wilson Medical Center. She was 91 years old. Tres was born July 25, 1923 in Zeeland, MI. She was a graduate of Wheaton College. Her career spanned more than 20 years and included several years as a teacher and later as an executive secretary with Herman Miller in Michigan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Thomas E. Knight, Sr., sister Rosebelle Martin, brother Jay DeHaan, and brother Dennis DeHaan. She is survived by stepdaughters Wendie Courtright and her husband Gary, of Wyoming, Michigan; Cheryl Sadowitz and her husband, David, of Camillus, NY; stepson Thomas E. Knight, Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Flushing, NY; sister-in-law Geraldine DeHaan of Zeeland, MI; 19 grandchildren and 12 (soon to be 14) great grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews and several great grand nieces and nephews. Visitation 10 - 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. will be held at the Endicott Visitors Center, 300 Lincoln Avenue, Endicott, NY. Reverend James Rice will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unity of the Southern Tier.
