Obituary of Anna F. Kotasek
Anna F. Kotasek, 75, of Endicott, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2015, following an extended illness. She was born in Easley, South Carolina to Julian A & Geneva B. Freeman. She grew up in Charleston SC, where she met her future husband, Tom, who was serving with the U.S. Navy. Anna is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, as well as her son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Jane. She is also survived by numerous siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews on both the Kotasek and Freeman Families. She began her early career as a bookkeeper and later she worked for over 27 years as a teacher's aide for the UE School District. Anna married into a Czech family and made their heritage her own. She spent many years as a proud member of the Czechoslovak Moravian Club, participating in activities such as cooking, embroidery and folk dancing. She made Marks first "Kroj" (traditional folk attire) by hand. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main Street, Endicott on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. The Moravian Club members will meet at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Ave., Endicott., with Father Donald Bourgeois officiating.
