Obituary of William C. Darrow

William C. Darrow, 83, of Apalachin, NY passed away at his home Thursday July 30, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Endicott, NY January 27, 1932 and was adopted by Florence and Ralph Darrow who predeceased him and also predeceased by a sister and two brothers. He is survived by: his loving wife, Louise Hickey-Darrow, who were married almost 60 years; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Delahanty; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Terri Darrow; son, Tom Darrow; three grandchildren, Dan, Shawn and Cassandra Delahanty, and Ashlee Darrow; two great grandchildren, Allie and Maris; a sister, brother and a sister-in-law. Bill worked at IBM-Owego and retired after 32 years. Bill ran a fishing charter from his boat (Donna-Lou) on Cayuga Lake. Bill loved going to the children's ball games and attending Ashlee's ice skating performances. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Endicott Council 1839). We would like to extend a special thank you to Lourdes Hospice for all they did! The nurses and the nurse's aides were so caring. We would also like to thank our children for their support and especially Donna and Jim Delahanty for all the nights they stayed and providing the great medical care you gave to Bill. We could not have done it without you all. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Rt. 434 Apalachin, NY on Sunday August 2nd between the hours of 3-6 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Margaret Mary's Church on Pennsylvania Ave in Apalachin, NY on Monday August 3rd at 10am followed by the burial at St. Thomas Apostle Cemetery in Little Meadows, PA. ln lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Bill can be made to Lourdes Hospice 4102 Old Vestal Rd, Vestal NY 13850.
