Obituary of Daniel J. Keating
Daniel J. Keating 52, Endicott, NY formally of Troy, NY, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Preceded by his father John J. Keating. He is survived by his mother Teresa (Bethel) Keating (Troy, NY), loving wife of 22 years, Jean L. Keating (Parker) and son, David M. Darrah; sister Jean Keating Gageway (Mark) (Wynantskill, NY) and brothers, John Keating (Laurie) and sons, John Jr. and Edward Keating (Troy NY), William Keating (Niskayuna, NY), son William Jr. (Destra) and daughter Nicole Gray (Justin) and great niece Lily; mother-in-law, Norma McFadden, sisters-in- law, Ida Sargeant (Tom) and son Aaron, Amy Barnes (Bob) and daughter Kristena; brother-in-law, Edward Parker Jr. (Lori) and daughters, Brandi Kamanski (Robert), Julie Barry (Luke), son Darrel Harvey (Pamela). Dan's wife Jean would like to personally thank his devoted friends Forrest Horvath and David Stulir for always being there for Dan throughout the years.
Dan's love of life was spending time with his family and friends and making them laugh. He enjoyed camping, bowling, motorcycle rides and he took great pride in home improvement projects. His pride and joy was his 66 Chevelle. Dan graduated from Troy High in 1981 and Hudson Valley Community College in 1983, IBM Toolmaker Apprentice graduate. He worked for IBM in Fishkill and Endicott as a toolmaker and in the Purchasing Dept. for 22 years.
Calling hours will be held at Sarah Jane Johnson United Methodist Church, 308 Main St. Johnson City, NY on Saturday, September 5th at 11:00a.m. Memorial service immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers in memory of Dan donations may be made to the Blind Association at A.V.R.E. (174 Court St., Binghamton, NY 13901), American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Dan's final resting place will be at St Joseph Cemetery, Troy, NY.
