Obituary of Fred Leon Mott

Fred Leon Mott Jr., 84, of Endicott, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. Fred was born Dec. 10, 1930 in Shickshinny, PA, to Fred and Beatrice (Lloyd) Mott. He graduated from Shickshinny High School and then joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War. After serving in the army, he earned his bachelor's degree at Harper College in Binghamton, NY. Fred married Jean Greene of Endicott, NY on Dec. 21, 1956, and he was employed by the NYS Department of Transportation in civil engineering. He loved the country environment and enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, old-fashioned living, and all things outdoors. He also enjoyed classical music, photography, drawing, and playing the piano. He was a serious man but also had a witty sense of humor. Fred is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Bea Mott, two brothers, George and Bob Mott, one sister, Patsy Booth, and his beloved wife, Jean. Fred is survived by his brother Ron (and Sue) Mott, his sister Judy (and Charles) Crismond, and Bob's wife, Lillian Mott; by his four children: Kaye (and Bobby) Hall, Gary (and Sandy) Mott, Karon Mott, and Kristen (and Todd) Paris; by seven grandchildren: Jimmy Pecha, Garrett Mott, Rachel (and Micah) McQuillin, and Jennifer, Melissa, Gideon, and Moriah Paris, and by one great-grandchild, Jairus McQuillin. Fred was a loving husband, devoted father, and a generous giver to both his family and many charities. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott. Burial will follow in Birchardville Cemetery, Birchardville, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Fred's example of generosity, donations may be made to West Endicott Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
