Obituary of Harriett L. Storozow
Harriett Lenora (Ames) Storozow, 83 of Vestal, NY, surrounded by her family, passed away into her Loving Lord's arms on Saturday, October 31, 2015 following a short illness. Harriett was born on December 10, 1931 in Conklin, NY to Howard and Helen Ames. Harriett is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Elmer P. Storozow; son, Russell H. (Debbie) Storozow; daughter, Glenna M. (Bill) Hall; daughter, Donna L. Storozow; grandchildren, Will H. (Telsa) Hall, Philip A. (Mallory) Hall and Megan J. Hall. Harriett (known by her siblings as Hattie) is survived by sister, Beulah (James) O'Connell and half-brother, Gary (Mary) Ames; and many nieces, nephews and many special friends. Hattie was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis Ames, Bernard Ames, Everett Ames, step-brother, Lester Carman and step-mother Hazel Ames. Harriett graduated Salutatorian from Owego Free Academy in 1950. She had a special gift of music. She was taught to play the piano by her Aunt Mildred Lyon, Leila Davis and Mrs. Wade. She became the pianist at South Apalachin Baptist Church at the age of 14. She not only mastered the gift of being a pianist, she then became the church organist, a position she held for over 60 years; a true & faithful servant. She also gave piano lessons to over 50 students, passing on her love of music to many others. Harriett was a loving wife, mother, sister & friend. Calling Hours will be at South Apalachin Baptist Church, 4116 Pennsylvania Ave. Apalachin, NY on Saturday, November 7th from 10:00 to 12:00. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following.
