Obituary of Doris L. Beff

Doris L. Beff (Hughes), 91, passed away on November 3, 2015 at the Ideal Senior Living Center in Endicott, NY. Doris was born October 13, 1924 to the late Clinton and Lena (Van Auken) Van Valkinburgh in Endicott, New York. She was predeceased by her husbands; George W. Hughes (October 20, 1991) and John D. Beff (May 2, 2015). Doris was very active in her church, Central United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She is also a graduate of Union Endicott High School and Binghamton Business Institute. She is survived by 7 children: Jean Meyer of Windsor, NY; Charlene Burns of Grayson, GA; Larry (Brenda) Hughes of Morehead City, NC; Virginia (Michael Ocker) Hughes of Whitney Point, NY; Bruce (Jennifer Elle) Hughes of Whitney Point, NY; Sally (Frank) Wenzel of San Jose, CA; Keith (Sue) Hughes of Endicott, NY, 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by stepchildren; Robert Beff of Colorado Springs, CO, Sally (Michael) Ritchie of Saranac Lake NY, Kathryn Conway of Roanoke, VA. 4 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Friday November 13, 2015 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Ave. Endicott. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell.
