Obituary of William R. Price

William R. Price, Jr. (Ralph), 82, of Vestal, NY died on November 20th, 2015 at home surrounded by those who loved him. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Patricia A. Price (Thompson), daughters Susan Price, Boston, MA, Kathryn Price, Wellsboro, PA and Jacqueline (Robert) Bivona Guilderland, NY, son and best friend William Price (Eva Kochanski), Cambridge, MA, one much loved grandchild Christopher Bivona, cousins Wayne & Gary Williams of Scranton, Matt & Jeanne Ellis, Mansfield, MA and their entire family. He was preceded in death by his parents William R. & Jessie (Meade) Price, Sr.. Ralph was born in Scranton, PA on May 25, 1933. Ralph attended Binghamton Central and went on to graduate from St. Lawrence University in 1955. After college he worked at Link Simulator and then in 1973 he became one of the original employees at Doron Precision Systems, Inc., where he worked for over 25 years and remained on their Board of Directors until the time of his death. Above all, Ralph was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandfather (Papa Bear). Ralph and Pat raised their family in Windsor, NY. He was involved with the Windsor Lions Club for over 30 years and was also treasurer of the Stillson Memorial Medical Center, as well as a member of their board. After retiring from Doron, Ralph was able to thoroughly enjoy one of his favorite pastimes—SPORTS CARS. He volunteered at the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen where he helped organize their vast library and was able to spend time with his many friends sharing car stories. The family expresses their gratitude to Deb Bryan (Elder Life Options, LLC) and the incredible caregivers who helped ensure dad could remain home during his final days. Friends are invited to celebrate Ralph's life at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC located at 300 E. Main Street, Endicott, NY on Monday, November 23rd from 4:00-6:30 p.m. There will be a private burial at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ralph's name to The National Parkinson Foundation or The American Cancer Society .
