Obituary of Gertrude M. Keogh
Gertrude M. Keogh, formerly of White Plains, passed away December 19, 2015. She was 94. Gertrude was born November 15, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY to Gertrude I. Malone and William J. Keogh. Besides her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her brother, William J. Keogh in 1973. Gertrude was considered the "oldest adopted member of the Wright Family," Raymond & Mary Wright, of Endicott. For 45 years Gertrude worked for Allstate Insurance in White Plains as assistant personnel manager. Gertrude was one of the founders and 54 year member of Legion of Mary in Westchester. She served as president of the Legioncuria and Right to Life committee in NY State and White Plains. She was one of the original founders and members of the Catholic Club and a 20 year volunteer at both the Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne and Schnurmacher Nursing Home. Gertrude received the St. Michael Award from the Catholic Coalition of Westchester, the Cardinal Cooke Award from NY State Right to Life and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement from Westchester/Putnam Right to Life. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, NY from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home, Inc. 491 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, White Plains, NY. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mom's House, 770 Harry L. Dr. Johnson City, NY 13790, in memory of Gertrude M. Keogh.
