Obituary of Elizabeth M. Teed

Elizabeth "Betty" Teed, 79, passed away peacefully at Lourdes Hospital with her son, David, by her side. She was a wonderful lady who always had something to say whether you liked it or not. She will be missed by her husband Donald Teed and best friend, having been married 56 years. She is survived her husband, Donald; her son, David and his wife, Gabi; her daughter, Diane; and her precious grandsons, Joshua and Charlie. She is also survived by her sisters, Louise Leonard of Owego, Harriet (Terry) Magargle of St. Augustine, FL, and Phyllis (Larry) Novak of Apalachin, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins and many good friends of whom she cherished. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Fred and Irene Toft; her brother, Charles Toft; and her in-laws, Elwin and Lorna Teed. She was employed at Union Endicott School district for many years. Where she became cook manager serving her own two children while they were in Anne G. McGuinness Elementary School and their friends, earning her the revered title of "Lunch Lady." She was also an Endicott Johnson employee as well as having worked at the Acme Market in Union, NY. Betty loved to crochet or knit and made many afghans for her many friends. She was an excellent cook and always enjoyed being "cook manager" in her kitchen. She loved her family. Once she was your friend she was your friend forever. In keeping with her small town Catatonk upbringing, there will be no services. If you wish, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903.
