Obituary of Delores E Keeler
Delores E. (Dee) Keeler of Binghamton, entered Heaven on January 7 in Ithaca, NY, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Yvonne Williamson and Rosalee Williamson, husband Franklyn D. Keeler, brother Lyle Williamson, and loving son-in-law, Michael Collister. Delores is survived by her loving children: Sindee and Larry DeSantis of Candor, Kathee, and Jim Shaff of Lansing, Frank and Tammy Keeler of Whitney Point, and Bettee Collister of Florida; and special grandchildren Ryan and Shanna Shaff and Frank and Joe Keeler. She is also survived by her brother E. Dean and Linda Williamson, sisters-in-law Nancy Williamson and Beverly Austin and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Delores graduated from Johnson City High School and Broome Tech. She retired from Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk. She was a long-time member and secretary of High Street United Methodist Church in Binghamton. She was a beautiful, caring, and compassionate woman who put others needs ahead of her own. She was actively involved in her children's activities while they were in school and beyond: baking goodies, sewing costumes, attending plays and concerts, etc. Her hobbies were bowling, flower gardening, reading, and traveling both stateside and abroad. She was fortunate to have visited Europe three times, especially loving London and anything old Victorian. Her first European adventure was in her early twenties when she hiked and backpacked with a friend, staying in youth hostels and on an American Army base in Germany for Christmas. The family would like to thank the staff at Clare Bridge and Cayuga Ridge (3A) for their care over the past several years. Please join the family for a brief service at the Tower of Memories Chapel at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, 3997 Old Vestal Road, Vestal on Wednesday, January 13 at 2 p.m. Entombment immediately following. All are invited for a gathering in the recreation hall at the Choconut Center Church, 5 Lewis Road (off Airport Road), Binghamton from 4-p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to your local animal shelter or a charity of your choice.
