Obituary of Patricia M. Londa

Patricia Margaret Murray Londa, 84, formerly of Vestal, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 in Wilkes Barre, PA. She was the widow of Albert Joseph Londa, who died September 18, 1996. The couple had been married for more than 42 years. Patricia was born in Bronx, NY, on Jan. 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Joseph Patrick Murray. She attended St. Jerome's and graduated from Walton High School. Patricia worked as a credit clerk at Bonds Department Store, where she met her husband, Al. They lived in Queens, NY, and had nine children. They moved to Vestal in 1974. Pat was a loving mother and grandmother. Her home was always a warm and welcome place to gather for holidays, birthdays and many other occasions. She had a love for decorating, antiques, family history, gardening and life in general. Pat was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish and participated in the R.C.I.A. program, Right to Life, parish library, bible study and many other programs. She made life-long friends there who were always in her thoughts and prayers. Preceding her death, in addition to her parents and husband, Albert, was her granddaughter, Theresa Cartossa, and nephews, Joey, Gary, and Eddie Londa. Surviving her are her nine children, Kathy Small and her husband Rick, Wesley Chapel, FL; John Londa and his wife Joanne, Lunenburg, MA; Patricia Cristelli and her husband Dan, Sidney, NY; Joseph Londa and his wife Barbara, Carmel, NY; Jeane Frear and her husband Frank, Vestal; Mary Londa, Inman, SC; Jim Londa and Lisa Faber, Apalachin; Dan Londa and his wife Margaret, Friendswood, TX; Joan Bilski and her husband Mike, Wilkes Barre, PA; and her grandchildren, Kyle and Kelly Small; Christopher and Patrick Londa; Jennifer, Alicia and Thomas Cartossa; Evan and Emma Londa; John and Dustin Hill; Casey, Caitlin, Sarah and Margaret Londa; Daniel, Gillian and Andrew Londa; Michael, Aidan and Ryan Bilski. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Murray and his wife Lydia, Springfield, NJ; and brother-in-law, Joseph Londa and his wife June, Guilford, CT; and nephews, Bill Murray; Chris, Mathew and John Londa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, DC, 20090-6231. A Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 10am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main St., Vestal. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 765 Main St., Vestal on Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
