Obituary of Donald W. Peltz
Donald W. Peltz, of Vestal, NY, at age 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elsie (Cobb); his brothers, George, Russell, Richard, Larry and brother-in-law, Paul Halstead. Don (Dutch) is survived by his wife, Marylyn (Halstead) of 62 years; his daughter, Penny Treadwell and husband Jeff, and grandson Thomas; his son, Bill and wife Renee. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert wife Laura, Vivian and husband Bernard, Virginia, Ron, and sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Halstead), Patty, Judy, Judy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Don was born on August 11, 1929 in Wayne Co, PA. Don served in the Army during the Korean War; he was stationed at Camp Rucker. In 1953, he accepted a position with IBM Endicott and worked for 34 years before retiring. Don spent his retirement traveling with his wife, hunting and fishing with his son and grandson. He loved to garden, grow tomatoes and squash. He feed the neighborhood birds and loved to watch them in the afternoon. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00a.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 765 Main Street, Vestal. The Reverend Martha E. Vink, Assistant Pastor of the Vestal United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
