Obituary of Harry William Panko
Bill Panko, 61, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on the morning of May 25, 2016 at UHS Wilson Medical Center. Bill was employed with Binghamton University for 33 years in various capacities. He enjoyed boating in the Thousand Islands, autocross racing with his son, music and a fine red wine. His greatest joys were watching his kids play sports and grow up, and his dogs, King and Sadie. Bill had an infectious personality and an energy that lit up any room. He will be terribly missed. He was predeceased by his father, Harry Panko. Bill leaves behind his wife Cheri (Sloma) of 35 years, one daughter, Maggie and one son, Chris, his mother, Marguerite (O'Mara) Panko, one brother and sister in law, Richard and Kathy Panko of Florida and one sister and brother in law, Cindy and Robert Yurecka also of Florida. Please join us Wednesday June 1, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Vestal, NY for calling hours from 10-12 and Mass immediately after. Bill's wish was to celebrate his life with a huge party, which will take place after the services.
