Obituary of John A. Hills

John A. Hills, 85, of Endicott, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 30, 2016, at Wilson Medical Center surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 67 years, Shirley Hills; his parents, George and Gladys Hills; sister Mae Greene; and two brothers Donald and Richard Hills. He leaves behind two sons, Mark Hills of Rochester, NY and James Hills of North Syracuse, NY; five grandchildren, Josh Hills, Krystal (Ryan) Poplawski, Ryan Hills, Joel Hills, and Emily (Shaun) Hoke; four great-granddaughters; brother Roger (Linda) Hills; sisters Florence (Thomas) Tzivanis, Doris Andrews, Janet James, and Betsy Smith; sister in-law Donna Oris; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give a special thank you to John's sister Doris. She made it possible for John to remain at home until his passing. John was a Korean War Army Veteran, retiree of IBM, successful real estate businessman, and greatly admired father and grandfather. Services will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 6519 Rt. 434, Apalachin. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 6th at noon with funeral services to follow at 1pm. Reverend Mark Kimpland, pastor of the Endwell United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin.
