Obituary of Shirley Ann Gabriel

Shirley Ann (Wheeland) Gabriel, 80, of Vestal, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2016. She is predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Nettie; and brothers, Emerson and Clifford. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her children, Valerie (Richard) Bennett, Tina (Rick) Barton, Amy (Jeff) Harvey, Randy (Penny) Short, Mark (Lynda) Short, Jill (Stino) Cervini, and Kent Chilson; sisters, Marie, Norma, Dody, and Marcia; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Aside from raising 7 children, Shirley worked at IBM Owego for 20 years. She enjoyed spending weekends with Frank and the family at their retreat in Canada, going to the casinos and playing bingo with family and friends. She will be dearly missed. A time to share memories will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 6519 Route 434, Apalachin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
