Obituary of William J Rozina
William "Bud" J. Rozina of Vestal, 84, passed away on October 22, 2016 after a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife Elaine Rozina, brother Donald Rozina, and parents William C. Rozina and Pauline S. Rozina. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Char Rozina of Colorado Springs, and his daughter and son-in-law Beth and Cliff VanDervort of Vestal; grandchildren Lucas VanDervort and wife Samantha, Tiffany White and husband Matthew, Tyler VanDervort and wife Kaitlin, Cody VanDervort and fiancé Amanda Galster, Christine D'Andrea and husband Cody, Jamie Rozina, Kevin Rozina Jr., and Shawn Rozina; great grandchildren Dillon, Christian, and Trenton; and his four-legged companion, Jasper. He is also survived by one sister and several nieces and nephews.
William was a United States Submarine Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He is a Charter member of the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. (USSVI) Endicott Base, where he served as treasurer for two terms, authored the group's webpage, and served as the webmaster for 7 years. He was also an Associate member of the WWII Submarine Veterans, Binghamton Chapter, where he once served as Secretary/Treasurer and Chapter President, and a member of the American Legion Post 89, Vestal, NY. William was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Endicott, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27th, 12:00 noon, at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Avenue, Endicott, NY with Reverend John R. Martinichio officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Cemetery at 2:45 where Military Honors will be accorded.
