Obituary of Ann Mae Corcoran

Ann Mae Corcoran earned her angel wings on Saturday, November 5, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; son, James; grandson, Liam; sister, Louise Flannigan and brother, George Carpenter. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Francesca; her daughter and favorite son-in-law, Nancy and James Driftmyer; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patricia Corcoran and son and daughter-in-law, John and Beth Corcoran. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Rosina, Levi, Ana, Tommy, Christine, Mikey, Katie and Daniel as well as her 7 cherished great grandchildren, her dear sister-in-laws, Sr. Eunice Corcoran and Marie Carpenter and several nieces and nephews. Ann graduated from Powell Business School and met the love of her life, Joseph, when they worked at the First National Bank of Scranton. She was a homemaker for many years before returning to work for the Social Security Administration. She will be remembered for her "crying laugh," cooking delicious holiday dinners for her family, shopping, eating Maple Walnut ice cream, filling Easter baskets with candy and toys until they were overflowing and treasuring the time spent with family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Hilltop who took care of our mother, too numerous to name, but some are Sarah, Chuck, Shelly, Alicia P., Alicia A., Karen, Casey, Stephanie and The Laughing Ladies, Laura and Karen. Calling hours will be on Friday, November 11, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 765 Main St. Vestal. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 9:30 at the funeral home and 10:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows, 801 Main St. Vestal. Following the funeral, Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
