Obituary of Richard Paetzold

Richard B. Paetzold, 88, passed away on Monday, November 14. 2016 at home surrounded by loving family members. His wife Doris predeceased him in 1975. His daughter Laurie Ryan predeceased him in 2013. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Paetzold and Robert's wife Jacqueline. He is survived by 4 children, Kathi Paetzold, Richard Paetzold and his wife Donna, Kevin Paetzold and his wife Paula, Robin Paetzold and her husband Oguz Durumeric, and Laurie's husband Michael Ryan. Richard is survived by his sister Lela and her husband William Carden. He is survived by ten grandchildren, Sarah and Kaitlyn Ryan, Thera and Ryan Paetzold, Alina, Sara Ariana, Ali, and Leila Nadir, Alek and Zakir Durumeric. He is survived by great grandchildren Lilia Nadir-Abraham and Evan Nadir-Lenzo as well as nieces and nephews. Born in Binghamton, Richard was a naval veteran and the third generation owner operator of AJ Paetzold & Son which was the last tobacco manufacturing factory in Binghamton. He also had a side business repairing televisions and appliances for families and seniors. Richard's greatest pride were his ten grandchildren and their success in life. A remembrance will take place on Saturday, November 19, at 10AM in the Gathering Room of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 801 Main St, Vestal, NY 13850 at 10AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11AM followed by burial at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to: http://honorflightrochester.org/ in memory of Richard Paetzold.
