Obituary of Donna L. Gayne

Donna L. (Whitesell) Gayne, 69, of Maine, NY passed unexpectedly on December 9, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Lyman and Loretta Whitesell, brother Earnest, sister Judith, and beloved niece Christine. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lee Gayne and her children and grandchildren; Jarrett and Melinda Gayne (Colton and Addison), Geoffrey and Chaundra Gayne (Kyle, Kate, Reba, Claire), Elena and Travis Steele (Conner and Colleen), Darren Gayne. She is also survived by her sister Lois Barnes and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Donna was a graduate of Vestal High School, class of 1965. She worked as an executive secretary at IBM for 7 years, was a skilled seamstress, a dedicated homemaker and the Cafeteria Manager at St. Joseph Parochial School in Endicott, NY. She enjoyed time with her family, reading, sewing, and caring for others. The family will receive friends at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 E. Main St., Endicott, NY from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 and at Most Holy Rosary Church, Maine, NY on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 10-11AM. A funeral mass will follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice of Lourdes, NY 4102 Old Vestal Rd., NY, 13850 or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
