Obituary of Etta D. Schaffer
Etta (Sartell) Schaffer, 89 died Friday morning December 16, 2016 at Susquehanna Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jonathan D. Schaffer Sr. in 2007, her parents Glenn and Delcie Sartell and six brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one brother Willard Sartell. She is also survived by her three daughters and their spouses: Kathleen and William Hanzalik, Marilyn and Glenn Hanson, Diane and Michael Clarke: two sons, Jonathan D. Schaffer, Jr. and his wife Andrea and Dean Schaffer. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous stepchildren and step great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Etta was a long time realtor belonging to the Broome County Board of Realtors and serving the Southern Tier for over 40 years. She belonged to and participated in the activities at the Union Center United Methodist Church for most of her adult life. Her greatest joy in life were the large family gatherings with her children and extended family.
The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral and Committal Service at 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Maine Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Etta's name to the Union Center United Methodist Church at 128 Maple Drive Endicott, NY 13760 or to a charity of your choice .
