Obituary of Richard J. Misulich
Richard Misulich, 85, of Apalachin passed away Friday, January 20, 2017, with his devoted wife Janet at his side. He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Violette Misulich. His is survived by his children: Mark Misulich, Mary Misulich (David Tate), Barbara (Mike) Roberts, Linda Misulich, and Michael Misulich, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother Edward Misulich, sisters Margaret (Harold) Petticrew, and Marilyn (Dr. Steve) Branning. Richard was born in Endicott, NY. He served his country as a Sergeant in the USMC during the Korean war. He completed his service in Washington, D.C. as an honor guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He had a 35 year career at IBM where his ingenuity earned him several awards, including an award for his contributions to the Saturn Apollo Project. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, and served on the Board of Directors of the IBM Club. He was a member of the Owego Elks. He was also a member of Binghamton University Arts Corps. He was a member of the Apalachin United Methodist Church and served in many capacities, including the Board of Trusties. Richard was happiest when he was fixing or remodeling anything. He also took up upholstery after retiring from IBM, and taught courses on upholstery at BOCES. The family would like to thank Dr. Bichala and nurse Cindy, and the staff at Lourdes Hospital for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Apalachin United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be from 9:30 am till 11:00 am the same day.
