Obituary of Walter W. Meier

Walter William (Bud) Meier, Jr. of Johnson City formerly of Vestal Walter W. (Bud) Meier, Jr., 86, of Johnson City, formerly of Vestal, NY, passed away in his sleep Monday morning at his home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma (Mimi) Meier, Johnson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Jeff Shull, Powell River, British Columbia, Canada; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Maria Meier, Washington, DC; two granddaughters, Brittany and Morgen Shull, both of British Columbia, Canada; two sisters, Marilyn Meier, Oak Park, Illinois and Eloise Bangert, St. Louis, MO. Walter was born September 16, 1922 in Evansville, Indiana. Walter and Wilma Margaret (Mimi) Wesselman were married on June 27, 1948. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer employee of IBM Endicott, with 32 years of service and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Endicott and veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps. A Memorial Service for Walter will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church of Endicott, 29 Grant Ave., Endicott, NY. The Rev. Dr. Timothy Devine and the Rev. Janice Devine, co-pastors of the church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Service arrangements are by Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott, NY.
