Obituary of Martin D. Walter

Martin D. Walter, 82 of Vestal Center, died Tuesday March 14, 2017 at his home. He was born in Endicott on May 12, 1934. He was predeceased by his parents Earl and Arla Walter. He is survived by his 2 daughters and sons-in-law Freda (Jeff) Gould of Vestal Center, and Pauline (Rick) Bates of South Carolina, 7 grand-children Wayne and Carrie Ross, Kenneth and Amber Ross, Richard, Steven, Brandon, Alexis, and Brianna Bates, 2 great-grandchildren Parker and Sadie, his sister, Shirley Pease, brother and sister-in-law Frank and Cora Walter, sister-in-law Sharon Clark, and several nieces and nephews. Martin retired from the Vestal Central School District. He loved wood working, making canes, and to make people happy. He loved his grandkids. His family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for their care of Martin. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:30AM from the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, 478 West Hill Rd., Vestal Center. The Rev. Jeff Aiosa pastor will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10AM until service time at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Vestal Center United Methodist Church.
