Obituary of Virginia B La Force

Virginia La Force died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Marie Stephenson. Virginia is survived by a daughter, Marsha M. Doupe of Endicott, New York. After graduating from the U.E. High School, in Endicott, she attended Syracuse University, graduating in 1946 with a degree in elementary teaching. After her marriage she taught third grade at Clayton Avenue Elementary School in Vestal, N.Y. Virginia also attended Cortland College and change to teaching 7th and 8th grade Spanish in Vestal, New York. Virginia was an accomplished piano player. She was a long time member of Central Untied Methodist Church and in recent years an active member of Central United Methodist Church and in recent years an active member of the ladies Sarah Circle at her church. Special thanks of appreciation go to the competent and compassionate staff in the Rose Court of the Ideal Nursing Home where she has been a resident this past year. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM from the Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Ave, Endicott. The Rev. Horace King will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home LLC, 300 East Main St., Endicott, Monday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Memorial Fund of the Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
