Obituary of Gloria Q. Ford
Gloria Quay Ford went to be with Jesus June 4, 2017 at 87 years old. Gloria was born November 18, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee to H. Clyde Singleton and Sally B. Singleton. She married Robert C. Ford December 20, 1952. They have celebrated 64 years together. Gloria will be remembered for her love for God and her servant heart. She has entertained thousands of people (many were complete strangers) in her home over the years. She will be remembered as a wonderful hostess and awesome cook. Gloria retired from Vail-Ballou Press. She later became a certified nurse's assistant and retired from Vestal Nursing Home where she had cared for her residents like no other. She continued to provide care for others well into her 70s.Gloria was an active member at Endwell Church of Christ, then moved to Bakersfield, California where she continued to serve and love God's people with her whole heart at the Westside Church of Christ. She has attended the Buford and Chestnut Mountain Church of Christ here in Georgia for the last two years. She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Ford; her three children Debi Yorke (Russ Yorke), Marcy Bligh, and Craig Ford; and her many beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00PM Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA with Mr. Bob Conolty officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4PM before the service. A funeral service will be held in Apalachin, NY at 11:00am Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Apalachin Chapel with Rev. Johnathan Patrick officiating. Interment will follow in The Riverside Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at Helping Hands Hospice, Visiting Angels and Smith Memory Chapel.
