Obituary of Carol J Mitrus

Carol Mitrus, age 63, of Vestal, NY passed away unexpectedly (and was relieved of her pain and suffering) on June 26, 2017. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Vanek, and husband, William Mitrus. She is survived by her mother, Mary Vanek, children, William (Theresa) Mitrus, Nicholas (Caroline) Mitrus and Christy (Scott) Conrad, beloved grandchildren, William, Gavin, Liliana, Aidan and James, sisters Linda (Joseph) Dughi and MaryAnn (Pharon) Metzger, and several nephews and a niece. Carol worked for many years at Pancho's Pit, developing many friendships along the way. She loved camping and boating on Seneca Lake and was a member of the Binghamton Boating Club for over 20 years. She loved to cook and bake and was known to spend days baking dozens of cookies for when she visited with her grandchildren. Above anything else, she loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend and was always there to lend a hand when needed. Her legacy of kindness and selflessness will carry on and will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Lourdes Hospital, as well as her doctors that have cared for her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 765 Main St, Vestal, NY, The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
