My heart goes out to all of you. When Scott let me know I could hardly believe it. I live too far in Texas but I remember Joe to be a good man and great neighbor to my grandparents and everyone around for many years! I loved visiting those deer at Grandpa's when I could see them. And I think peacocks at one time, right? maybe my imagination but great memories. Savor your own memories as a family. May God comfort you knowing he's in a better place.
