Obituary of Paul E. Sypher

Paul E. Sypher, 88, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 7, 2017. Born on August 16, 1929 in Milton, PA, Paul was the son of the late Morris and Kathryn Sypher. He was predeceased by his brother, William, his sister, Adelaide Witherow, his brothers-in-law, John Witherow & Lee Lewis and a precious grandson, Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Boneta; two sisters Margaret Lewis of Arkansas & Marian Thomas (Benjamin), of Lewisburg, PA. He is also survived by his daughters Lisa Powell (John), Jan Staples, Brenda Lowie (Tim); six grandchildren, Ben (Abby) & Melia Staples, Erin Willis (Brett), Kyra, Zane, & Aidan Lowie; three great grandchildren, Cole and Drew Staples, Riley Willis and several nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. Paul attended Penn State and received a degree in electrical engineering and worked for IBM in Owego for 27 years until his retirement in 1984. Paul had a heart for the mentally ill, and was district leader for Recovery, Inc. for many years. Special thanks to Bill Chambers, Melody Lewis and also the staff on Ross 3 at Lourdes Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott on Tuesday, September 12th at 10am. Pastor Blake Shipp will officiate. Burial with military honors, will be in the Vestal Hill Memorial Park following the services. Calling hours will be Monday, September 11th at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, from 4 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Union Center Christian Church or Meals on Wheels of Western Broome.
