Obituary of Giuseppe De Palo
Endicott - Giuseppe (Joe) age 89 of Endicott passed away on March 31, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Surviving Giuseppe is his wife of 62 years Anna and their three daughters, Loredana (Lore), Grazia (Chuck Freeland) and Tina De Palo, his grandchildren Dr. Tyler Mead (Dr. Maryellen Lewis Mead), Micaela Gissendanner (Joshua Gissendanner), as well as two great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Beckett Mead. Also surviving Giuseppe is one sister, Angela Gallo of Torino, Italy, many nieces, nephews, as well as his in-laws, Vincenza De Palo, Corato, Italy; Isabella Martini, Rosa and David Pipher and Giuseppe D'Introno of Endicott. His parents Felice and Grazia De Palo, a brother Michele and a sister Rosa Gallo predeceased him. Giuseppe is a long time member of St Joseph's church, Endicott and a past member of the local Knights of Columbus. Giuseppe is a retired Carabinieri serving in Northern Italy from 1946 to 1956, after which he immigrated to the United States. He established himself as a master plaster mason, and his trade mastery was well known locally. He was employed with UHS for 22 years before retiring in 1990. His many interests included gardening, traveling with friends, winemaking and spending time with his family. He imparted his incredible work ethic, love of opera, winemaking and gourmet palette onto his children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY. The family will receive friends from 10am to Noon, with a funeral mass directly following.
