Obituary of Robert James Yankovich

Endwell - Robert Yankovich, 85 years old died at home on October 22, 2018. Bob joined the U.S Airforce in 1952 and was hired by IBM in 1956 where he was a member of the quarter century club. After leaving IBM Bob and his wife Betty purchase Vestal Marine & Cycle where they were the proud owners for 14 years. He was proud of the fact that he was the winner of the 2nd Spiedie Contest with his father's lamb spiedie recipe. His home was his castle and enjoyed keeping the outside grounds of his home immaculate with his expert gardening skills. Bob was the "Cemetery guy" making sure that every member of his family's gravesites were as immaculate as his own yard. This is where he found peace and tranquility, He will truly be missed by his family and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Betty and his sister Jackie. Bob is survived by his daughter Sue Johnson, son in law Brian W. Johnson, grandson Brian E. Johnson and his wife Tara Johnson. His son Greg Yankovich, his fiancée Lesa Cummiskey and grandson Jeremy Yankovich. His brother Al Yankovich and very special friends Dorothy & Ralph Riley, Jim & Marcie Pratt. He was a friend of Bill W for 37 years. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday October 31st at 9:00am at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at his home after the service.
