Obituary of Marie Sayre Covert

Marie Sayre Covert formerly of Endicott Our precious mother Marie Covert fell asleep in the Lord August 20, 2009 at the age of 94 at Hartwell County Hospital in Hartwell, Ga. Born on May 28, 1915 to Clinton and Julia Weaver Sayre: she was one of ten children and was predeceased by her husband Leo Covert Sr., in August of 2005 and was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters. Mother was a homemaker, a wonderful cook and made the best apple pies ever. She sold Avon products for 37 years and received many awards and made many wonderful friends. Mother is survived by three children, Bonnie Carley formerly of Endicott, Juanita and Hershel Clark of Anderson, SC and Leo and Carol Covert of Greenville, SC. Predeceased by one grandson Kevin, she is survived by 11 grandchildren; Cindy, William, Julia, Brenda, Larry, Susan, Lori, Penny, Candace, Scott and Megan; 24 great-grand children and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Mrs. Charles (Marion) Sayre of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Sunday August 23, 2009 in South Carolina. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the Nanticoke Valley Cemetary in Union Center. Pastor Kevin Dunn of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate.
