Obituary of Clifford E. Allen

Clifford E. Allen of West Endicott Clifford E. Allen, 85, of West Endicott, died August 24, 2009 at Elizabeth Church Manor, Binghamton. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth E. Allen. He is survived by his wife, Jane K. Allen; and his daughter, The Rev. Joyce K. Allen; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clayton and Ruth Bagnick; also many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Cliff left high school to go to WWII and even when he was sick and told he could go home, made the decision to fight for his country. He worked for General Electric for 34 years, and played softball for the GE All Stars for all of those years. He was a great pitcher. Cliff lived to tell stories, entertain his family, neighbors and friends, and make sure everyone was well fed. He kept us laughing and we loved him. As a child, Cliff belonged to any church that had a basketball team. Currently, he was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Endicott. A Memorial Service for Cliff will be held 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Jan Marsi, Oneonta District Superintendent and longtime family friend, will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 p.m. until service time at 8 p.m. Those wishing may make contributions in Cliff's memory to the Sky Lake Campership Fund, 401 Wm.
