Obituary of Robert J Modlo

Robert J. Modlo, of Johnson City, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2020 at home after a long battle with cancer. He had celebrated his 80th birthday in August 2020 at his most loved place, Oneida Lake. He was predeceased by his parents, Metro and Bertha Modlo, his loving wife, Marcia Modlo, sister, Helen, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Howard Lane, brothers, John and Stephen Modlo, brother-in-law, Joe Sedlacek and his niece Judy Crisanti. He is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Garrett J. and Dimitra Modlo, and his grandchildren Jon (Yianni) and Yiota Modlo who were the light of his life and meant the world to him. Also survived by his sister Anna Sedlacek, sister-in-law Lena Modlo, several nieces and nephews; Jim and Laurie Lane, Mike Crisanti, Mary Ellen and Mike Sloma, Joseph and Tamra Sedlacek, Robert Sedlacek, Joanne and Jim Covello, special friend Joy Coletta, and his hunting and fishing buddies. Bob loved his fishing and hunting and spending time at his favorite place, Oneida Lake. He went to Newfoundland moose hunting and came home with a bear. Then went back a year later and got his moose. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Bob was an engineer at IBM and a member of several local organizations. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Joseph's Church, Endicott on Saturday, December 19, at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
