Obituary of Bonnie J. Russell

Vestal - Bonnie J. (Angel) Russell 76 passed away peacefully at Mercy House on December 16 2020 after a 6 month battle with brain cancer. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband John E., who we are sure met her with open arms along with her parents Bernard and Lillian Angel. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Debbie (Tim) Osman, son John B (Gabrielle) Russell. Grandsons Anthony, Derek, & Conner Osman and John R Russell. Brother Barry (Dorothy) Angel and sister-in-law Mary Joyce Maudsley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Many special friends, she enjoyed their get togethers and their talks. Bonnie grew up in Apalachin, NY, graduated from Owego Free Academy, and received and Associates degree from Broome Community College. Bonnie was able to stay home with her children while they young. Volunteered on the Vestal Emergency Squad. Worked at Glenwood Elementary School. Retired from State Farm Insurance. Bonnie treasured her grandchildren and went to many school and sporting events over the years. Working in her flower gardens also gave her joy. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Mercy House for the care they gave Bonnie. Funeral services will be held Monday December 21 at 11:00am from the Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main St. Pastor Mike Willis will officiate. Burial will follow in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC 765 Main St Vestal Monday from 9:30-10:30. Please contact a family member if planning to attend the funeral.
