Obituary of Richard Holden

Richard Allen Holden of Owego, 57, went to be with the Lord and Savior Sunday, February 14th, 2021 after a year long battle with brain cancer. He is predeceased by parents, Bernard and Frances Holden, in-laws Nelson Tanner and Charlotte Vosefski, and sister in-law Donna Angulas. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Deborah Holden, children Kristen (Brandon) Hardy and Joseph (Jamie) Holden, siblings Jean (John) Rozelle, Elaine (James) Maxam, Gerald Holden, Carol (Kenny) Payne, sister in-law Kelly (Ray) Rodriguez and brother-in-law, Ken Angulas as well as many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1982 and was a lifelong resident of the Owego-Apalachin area as a contractor. An avid outdoorsman, Richard loved hunting and training his dogs for hunting. He also enjoyed attending concerts and listening to live bands locally. A long-time member of South Apalachin Baptist Church, he looked forward to greeting and welcoming people at church every Sunday. In his free time he loved reminiscing and spending time with friends and family. Calling hours for Richard will be held on Friday, March 12th, 2021 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at South Apalachin Baptist Church, Apalachin, NY. A joint funeral service will be held for Richard and his mother, Frances, March 13th, 2021 at South Apalachin Baptist Church. Friends and family of Richard and Frances will be received March 13th 10:00am to 11:00am with service following after. For those unable to attend the service in person, a live stream of the service will be available at www.southapp.org starting at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Missions Trust Fund at the South Apalachin Baptist Church.
