Obituary of Marilynn Jean Dyer

Marilynn J. (Miller) Dyer, 97, of Endicott passed away peacefully on Monday May 10, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving daughters and cat Missy. She was predeceased by her husband William of 70 years, her parents Percy and Mae Miller and her in laws Earl and Gladys Dyer. She is survived by her 3 daughters Patricia Dyer, Ginger Rich and Susan and Ed Guditis. Grandchildren Bill Rich, Erin and Dan Fischer, Trevor and Ryan Guditis and great grandson Will Guditis. Also survived by her special cousin Gail Van Horn who was like a sister to her and sister-in-law Betty Lingeman of Indianapolis, many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family. Marilynn was a graduate of Johnson City High School. She was a graduate of Syracuse University and worked as a social worker for Broome County. She then earned her Masters degree in Education from SUNY Cortland and taught kindergarten for the Union Endicott School District until her retirement. She played the organ for several local churches and was active in the Girl Scouts. She was an avid quilter and a lover of all things chocolate. The family will receive friends at the Union Presbyterian Church in Endicott on Saturday, May 15th from 10-11 AM with a service immediately following officiated by Rev. Pat Raube. Burial immediately following in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Marilynn's memory to a charity of your choice.
