Obituary of Dorothy V Lowe

Dorothy (Dottie) V. Lowe, 82, of Vestal, NY, passed away May 3, 2021. Born June 6, 1938, in Chicago, IL, Dorothy is predeceased by her parents C. Howard and Gertrude Lawver, husband Frank Lowe and Granddaughter Jennifer Zizzi. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Debbie) Renaldo, Elaine (Mark) Zizzi, Eric (Jennifer) Renaldo, Grandchildren, Emily Zizzi & Austin Renaldo, Great Grandchildren, Noah & Savannah Reed. Dorothy was raised in Chicago, graduated from Cato-Meridian High School in Weedsport, NY and Harper College in Endicott, NY. She settled in Vestal, NY where she made a forever home for her family. Wherever she lived – in the city, the country, and in Vestal – she found her lifelong friends. She was active in Sweet Adelines, sang in her church choir, and featured in newspaper articles for her artistic talents. She started her own business, Paperhanging by Dottie, where her wallpaper still hangs in businesses & homes across the Southern Tier and beyond. She was a member of Success Network and enjoyed golfing & boating. Her love of cooking, baking, sewing and her generosity as a caregiver and volunteer will be sorely missed by everyone. Her love for her family, and her friends that became family, will be with us forever. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Belinda and Jerry Macdonnell and their family for their care and support given to our mother throughout the years. A memorial gathering for Dottie and her Granddaughter Jennifer, who passed away last year during the pandemic, will be held on June 12th from 2pm to 6pm at the place she loved most, her home.
