James Prince

Obituary of James E Prince

James E. Prince, 56, of Vestal passed away unexpectedly at home on May, 21 2021. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Evans Prince, in 1967. He is survived by his son, Zach, whom he loved with all his heart and was so very proud of all his accomplishments, his devoted parents, Ed and Linda Prince, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from all walks of life. Jim's passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. Jim's heart was made of gold and as big as all outdoors and he would drop whatever he was doing and leave his own projects undone to answer the call for help from anywhere, or anyone, at any time, for anything needed by family or friends. There was never a doubt that you were in his presence when you heard the big, loud, fun-loving voice and laughter that followed. He rode his motorcycle hard, played hard, but had a gentle way about him and giant hugs that if you had the pleasure of receiving one would melt your heart. Unfortunately, Jim's heart could not give any more. Jim was a 1983 Vestal graduate. He loved coaching Vestal youth football and all of his team members. They all loved him back due to his fun-loving, big kid ways especially when he would wear the Raggedy Ann wig and dance around on the field. He was a big outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. There wasn't anything he wouldn't try if the opportunity came up. He was always all in. Visitation will be Thursday, June 17th at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal, NY from 10am until Noon when a brief service will be given. Private burial for the family will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Endicott. A celebration in memory of Jim will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CHOW or a charity of your choice in Jim's memory.
