Obituary of Timothy M. McMahon
On Thursday, June 10, 2021, Tim was called home to be with the Lord. He has been reunited with his parents, John and Marjorie McMahon. Tim was born on March 19, 1960 in Syracuse, N.Y. He would later move to Broome County where he resided until his untimely departure. When people would complain about upstate N.Y. winters, he would tell them Broome County wasn't upstate and try a winter in Syracuse. Tim loved to cook, he loved "oldies" music (only the good kind), and old cars, but most of all he loved being a Dad and Grandfather. Tim was a spitfire, he was always "quick with a joke or a light of your smoke", he was stubborn, and a fighter. Tim was the kind of father that would chase his kids around the playground, would build leaf piles and jump in, he was also the kind of father that always had wise words of wisdom, the kind in moments you don't want to hear or don't think he knows what he is talking about, but would later in life laugh to yourself when it became relevant, or understandable. Tim went through life beating the odds, he was by no means a quitter. In 1988 Tim was hit by a car on the interstate, he spent months in a coma, they didn't know what his chances were. He came back to us stronger than ever, he had to relearn how to do everyday tasks we take for granted, and he did! Tim had a strong spirituality, he felt very connected to God. Many times in his life one would wonder how he kept such strong faith, but he did. Tim was ready to spread his wings, but our hearts were not ready to let him fly. Tim left many loved ones behind, sister Mary-Sheila (WA), brother Rory (CA), sister Kittie (CA). He also leaves behind his sons, Joshua (VA), Justin and his children, Owen, Daisy, and Carly (VA), Daughter, Amber, son in law, Landis and their 3 children, Kiaunna, Kashawna, and Sabrina (NY), son, Timothy and daughter in law, Kendra (NY). Tim will be greatly missed, we will keep him in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 28th at 5pm at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 East Main Street, Endicott, NY.
