Obituary of John P. Avery

John P. Avery, Jr. Endicott - Endicott: John Perry Avery, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday June 17th 2021 at home. He was predeceased by his first wife Annie Avery, second wife Karen Avery, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children; Corinne (Chuck) Collins, Debbie Deemie, Mark(Flo) Avery, Matthew (Deborah) Avery, and Russell (Lorie) Avery. 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Sister Sylvia Lawton and Brother Ezra Avery. John was a longtime member of West Endicott Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. John worked at the EJ factory and Endicott Forging. John taught himself how to play the guitar and piano and loved sharing his love of music with his church and especially at family gatherings singing hymns. John had read through the Bible many times and often shared the gospel with those around him. He loved planting a garden and sharing the fruits of it. The family wants to thank a special grandson Michael Collins for seeing to his everyday needs and taking care of his grandfather also to his healthcare aid Terri Bentley. Funeral Services will be held at Coleman And Daniels funeral home in Endicott on Wednesday June 23rd. Viewing hours are from 10:00 to 1:00 with the funeral service at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 10:00. Burial with military honors will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. in lieu of flowers, those wishing can make a memorial contribution to West Endicott Baptist Church 515 West Wendell St Endicott NY 13760 in memory of John.
