Obituary of William L Bilka

William L. Bilka Jr. (Bill), 74 of Endicott passed away on 7/11/21 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford. Bill was preceded by his father William L. Bilka Sr, mother Jarmilla Bilka and his brother Gerald Bilka. He is survived by his son Lucas Bilka, daughter Heather Spisak (Joshua Spisak), his 2 grandsons Kyle and Adam Spisak as well as his 3 sisters. Bill served in the US Army and did a tour in Vietnam as an MP and then worked more than 20 years with the Village of Endicott. He loved the New York Yankees, New York Giants, bowling and fishing. He was a proud life member of the VFW post 1449 and the OVV (Organization of Vietnam Veterans) where he served on many different committees such as funerals, Special Olympics, the parade committee and the poker runs to name a few. He fought for Veterans rights and would help anyone in need. As involved as he was with the VFW nothing compared to the love he had for his family especially his grandsons- which were his everything. A special thank you to all the staff he adored at the Veterans Home that cared for him the past 11 years. There will be calling hours Friday July 16, 2021 at Coleman & Daniels in Endicott, NY from 10 am- noon. A funeral service will be at noon followed by burial at Vestal Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Disabled American Veterans organization (dav.org) in honor of Bill.
