Obituary of Richard A Lane

Reverend Richard Allen Lane, 86, of Owego went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 3, 2021. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara; his son, Richard Brunosky Jr.; his parents, Perley and Ada Lane, five brothers; Melvin Lane, Lyle Lane, Milton Lane, Delbert Lane, Bruce Lane, and three sisters; Mary Ellen Post, Lois Guiles and Carol Frisbie. Richard is survived by two sons and two daughters-in- law, William and Brenda Brunosky, Winchester Tennessee, David and Tara Lane, Owego; three daughters and one son-in-law, Mary and Brendan Graham, Owego, Michelle Lane and Monica Cook, Virginia; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Lane Boyd; two sisters in law; Carole Silvernail and Mildred Silvernail; and many nieces and nephews. Richard served in the US Army earning the rank of Staff Sergeant from 1952-1955. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help others. He was married to the love of his life for 45 years and kept his promise that he would see her soon. Richard was a descendant of the Mayflower Pilgrims, William and Sarah White and passed on their legacy of courage, hard work and perseverance to his children. He was the North Star to his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Thursday, September 9 at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 Noon.
