My name is Kevin O'Connor. I never met you in person, but know someone wo has half you genes. I am a friend of your son Craig. I have known your son for many years. We go back to grammar school. He talked about you Howard. You were president of the ABATE of Binghamton New York. You were a car and motorcycle enthusiast, much like Craig. . They say the apple does not fall to far from the tree. Craig is a reflection of you Howard. He is a great person Howard, and i is in the genes. You have a wonderful daughter Gail. She to is a reflection of you! All great people!

Dear Craig, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved father. Reading the obituary, he seems like he was a real character with lots of really great skills...a man's man for sure. I love that he collected antique flashlights and player pianos... it conjures up a real image of a time gone by. What an irreplaceable loss for you and your family. My "Uncle Howie" was married to my dad's sister, "Louise," and they -- along my cousins Craig & Gayle -- lived in one of the 4 Apartments of the Apartment Building that my dad owned in Brooklyn on Grant Ave.
My memory of him, though vague, is that he was a kid at heart...He loved practical jokes, and was, generally-speaking, a "kidder!"
I remember him seemingly make one of his fingers disappear right before my eyes, much to my amazement!
He was a huge fan of Saturday morning cartoons -- especially the "Road Runner" cartoon -- and a few times after my dad moved us out of our Apartment to a house across town, Uncle Howie had stopped by a few times on Saturday mornings to watch the Road Runner on our "color TV!" Lol!
No life is on this planet by accident, and as King David says in Psalm 139:16, "all my days were written in Your book (LORD) and planned before a single one of them began." I take comfort in that passage that speaks of God's Sovereignty. And I know that none of us should ever underestimate how our one life can effect the lives of others!
My heart goes out to all that my Uncle Howie touched in this brief lifetime -- especially those of my own family!
