Obituary of Paul M. Walenesky

Paul M. Walenesky, 78 of Endicott New York went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Paul is predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years Guadalupe M. Walenesky (Lupita) with whom he shared an abiding and passionate love. His parents John J. and Elizabeth Walenesky (Van Patten). Paul is survived by his children and caretakers Paul (Betty) Walenesky Jr. and his daughter Maria Walenesky Medina. He is also survived by his sisters Rita (Ken) Hinkson and Lisa (Joe) Wegener, special niece and caretaker Jennifer (Chuck) Grech, sister-in-law, Sue, and also family friend and caretaker Michelle Arnold. He was a loving and dedicated grandfather to Maria Danielle Wilhelm (Kyle) and Adam Hendrick. Paul treasured his great grandchildren Harleigh, Logan, Sonja, and Ty, who meant the world to him. Paul also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and special friends Jim and Barb Vandermark and Algie and Kelly McCoy. He had a long union career working maintenance at various locations for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) of the AFL-CIO and the New York State Retirement System as head custodian for the Columbus Alternative School of the Binghamton City School District. Paul enjoyed the simple things in life, such as gardening, bird-watching, fishing, hunting, reading, his dog Mikey, and trips to the Finger Lakes Region. Paul left his mark on this world through the love he had for his family and the dedication and loyalty he showed to his friends. He always had a kind word and a smile for everyone he met. The family asks any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Paul's name. There will be a private graveside service for the family.
